Name: Born as Drystan. Has a variety of aliases, usually other forms of his real name and things that sound like his real name of the variants of his real name. (Tristan, Tristram, Dristen- which is how his name is actually pronounced-, and Dresden.) His last name and middle name has changed over the centuries, but is usually a play on being a Vampire.
For the past fifteen years he has been known as Drystan E. Rizzen (As in risen from the grave, and the E is for Evil…)
Age: He’s over two hundred years old, but he looks to be in his early-to-mid twenties.
Species: Vampire- full and pure. Never was a slayer, werewolf, half-breed, or a witch, just a turned human.
Description: His eyes are pleochroic- something which makes it easy for slayers to find vampires as they only need to see whose eyes change colors from a different angle- but will turn red the minute he summons any Vampiric power. He is almost 6 feet tall, though when he was bitten he was 5’7. He has slightly longer than shoulder length black hair. Very attractive- what else is he gonna offer a date? Death?
Clothing: (Attire.) He does prefer to wear black, but not always ALL black. He has a long black coat he treasures more than your life, but will wear other colors with it. Usually whatever he wears is or at least looks expensive- and is stolen.
Weapons: He carries a knife with him at all times. Nothing special about the knife.
Personality: Acts like an aristocrat, but is actually just a common thief and a con artist. Drysten is a Vampire so he has desires that rule him, such as the desire to drink blood, to hunt, and to kill. He is cautious and is not part of any clan. Drystan had had to make up his own rules for everything. He does have a human side, but around blood his personality sways towards serial killer mode.
History: Drysten got into dangerous situations many times while growing up, but always shrugged off the “You could have been killed!” comments. That was until he learned how horribly painful a mortal wound was. He had been with his older and younger siblings when they’d been attacked by a deranged woman who had given birth to a dead child, and a few limbs of that child’s unformed twin- I’m not going into detail on that…- the woman had jumped out at them, her face covered in scratches as if she’d tried to claw it off, covered in blood and filth, holding a knife. In the end, Drystan was the one less afraid of dying, so he’d tried to protect his young sister.
However, shoved against a tree with the woman’s knife in him, he began to fear death immensely. The woman lunged in again with the knife in her hands and Drystan watched his siblings stare in fear, and then run off. He cried out to them, and then cursed them as the woman fought him until he had no strength left to fight and fell to the ground. He was helpless to stop her as she stabbed him again, and again, and again, like he was cream in a butter churn, until the blade of her knife broke off. She then howled like a wounded beast and someone grabbed her mouth and bit her.
Having his fill, the vampire looked down at Drystan, admittedly amazed to hear a heart beat. The question was presented as “Are you going to lay there and die?” Drystan tried to find peace, tried to think of last words, but he had so much to say, so much to do! He said no, and was reborn thanks to an act of mercy from an impressed Vampire, already full on the blood of an anguished almost-mother.
Drystan awoke as a vampire, after sleeping for seventy years. He ran away from his sire because... well, no one wants to wake up as a blood-sucking monster that they have been taught to fear. He learned that his family was dead and he was forgotten. His sire found him on his knees at his sister's grave. Don't cry too hard for him though. He recovered from that shock and adjusted. As time passed he strived to become stronger and eventually he found that he was stronger than his sire. That's never a good thing in predators. Drystan was not an angsting emo revenge freak, so he did not kill his sire or anything, he just struck out on his own and moved to America. He has since then grown to look like a twenty-something and doesn't know much about Vampire Communities because of his inability to stay in his place.
Powers: Typical celerity; ability to crawl up walls/hang upside down; strength; immortality; expedited healing; if people drop their guard and do not notice he is doing it, he can make them obey commands/believe whatever he tells them; can turn into a bat- and still speak English telepathically. He has many pet bats. Over time he can gradually change his appearance, though gaining height and changing facial characteristics takes years. He used to change his hair color, but now it’s so much easier just to dye it.
Uber power: Eyes and mouth glow will an intense light and anyone staring at him will be frozen in place with fear. He can only use this once a day as it is tiring.
Abilities: He knows quite a few different languages: Latin, German- though his accent if laughable-, French, Italian, English, Romanian, and some Chinese.
Weakness:
Deadly: Stake to the heart. Decapitation.
Strong: Direct sunlight. Anything blessed by a high ranking Catholic Church official.
Average: Silver crosses. Holy water.
Weak: Garlic. Churches.
