Name: Dr. Hannibal Gabriel Fergesun, PhD
Age: 33
Physical Description: Well muscled, but lithe and flexible. At approximately 5' 10" in height and just under 180 lbs with pale skin, he also has short brown hair and keeps his beard and mustache neatly trimmed. His eyes are a grayish blue. He has a tattoo sleeve with a 'Day of the Dead' motif which includes dancing skeletons and grinning skulls in a photo-realistic style on his left arm, and on his right arm are the words "Honor, Courage, Chivalry, Piety, Chastity," written in a band. The same words are repeated all the way down his arm each in a different language. On his right palm is a pentagram with a sword in the middle, and on his left palm is a shield with a triquetra on it. He also has a dragon tattooed on his torso, starting at his left hip, wrapping around his abdomen once, with the head coming to rest just over his right shoulder.
Attire: A black, military field jacket, a purple button up shirt, blue jeans held up with a leather belt, combat boots and comfy socks. Also wears a lot of jewelry. 5 rings (LH ring finger, LH thumb, RH thumb, RH middle finger, RH ring finger), a necklace, a divers watch, a bracelet, and his glasses.
History: Dr. Fergesun (or, as his students liked to call him, Mr. Lecter) got his doctorate at a fairly early age. He had always been told that getting a PhD in mythology was a waste of time, and that he'd never be able to get a job. He'd never get published or go anywhere with it. But he did. He proved all the nay-sayers wrong. He got his degree and immediately put it to use teaching others the lessons of their ancestors. He got a job at a university teaching mythology, anthropology, and even led some boxing classes. When he got married to his beautiful wife Moira, nothing seemed impossible.
Of course, one can't really account for the world at large. Moira was killed in a car accident with a drunk driver. Her death sent Hannibal into a downward spiral. He drank heavily, became suicidal, and began to have delusions. The thing to finally bring him out of his funk was actually his students. Some of them actually pitched in and staged an intervention. After a lot of convincing he finally admitted himself to the local mental healthcare facility and stayed under their treatment until he was declared 'of good enough health'. He was released on the condition that he would visit a mental health specialist once a month until told otherwise.
Naturally, this did not go well with the university. Having lost his position, he began to look for work elsewhere. Of course, there weren't many places that had a mythology curriculum, or even a couple of classes. However, he finally found one and moved into it as soon as he could. It was a smaller branch of a larger university on the outskirts of a town called Crown Valley. His unique appearance earns him some strange looks, but for the most part his fallen into his role as professor with no ill repercussions.
Personality: Hannibal is a fun loving, active person. He's a bit snarky with his students, but willing to slow things down and explain stuff on an individual basis if need be. Since the accident however, not only has his snark seeped into his everyday conversation, but he also angers much more easily. He's able to keep a lid on it for the most part, sarcasm and boxing being his main outlets.
Skills: He's strong and fairly athletic. He has above average boxing skills, but nothing amazing. Puzzles and riddles are his strong suit, though.
Job: Professor of Mythology
Weakness: His temper has gotten much shorter since the accident, sometimes causing him to lash out at people (usually verbally, occasionally physically), and if he becomes extremely agitated or depressed he is still susceptible to delusions.
I see this character as: Most people will be thrown off by his appearance at first, but once he starts talking he's easily likable. It would be extremely shocking, however, to see him become angry to the point of physically reacting.
How'd I do, and where can I improve?
