Name: Jason "Jay" Zobel
Age: 20
Physical Description: He has a runner's physique and stands at about 5'9. He is ambiguously brown (because his mother was middle-eastern, and his father is an Irish/African mix) with green/gold eyes and dark brown hair.
Attire: Black shorts with multiple pockets, a brown Firefly T-Shirt, dark brown running shoes, and a dark red jacket.
History: Jay's parents were arrested multiple times when he was younger, until eventually they were sent to jail and he lived with a family friend. The situation was awkward because that friend already had kids of his own and wasn't really looking to take on another, and his children were less than thrilled about the idea. When his parents were released they just never seemed able, or all that willing, to meet the standards required for them to get their son back. When the friend was seen as a bad influence, Jason was shipped from home to home, until he graduated high school. If asked, he would say that things turned out okay. He was good enough at track that he got onto the team at each new school quickly enough and because practice and homework kept him so busy he was rarely home anyway.
Personality: Jason is an introvert. Around strangers he tends to be very quiet and a bit nervous. Around his friends, that personality changes to one that is much more open and even humorous. He can stand up for his friends, but is easily intimidated when it comes time to stand up for himself. He is almost always eager to be useful and though he gets the occasional good idea, he tends to be quiet about it and instead follow orders because he thinks his idea will be laughed at. Because he had to watch so many people disappear from his life he tends to be protective of his existing friends, and especially his girlfriend.
Skills: He's quick on his feet, has great endurance, and is good at improvising.
Job: Full-time university student on a track scholarship.
Weakness: His main weakness is his girlfriend Melissa, because she has a broken leg. He's not very strong and he tends to want to find the path with the least amount of people on it. He doesn't have the strongest stomach for gore either.
I see this character as: A useful tool. His life hasn't turned him into a leader, so he can be asked to do things no one else wants to do. His speed lets him get places quickly, such as backtracking to previous rooms or areas that might be too dangerous for characters who stand out more and are not as fast. However, because he's an introvert he only becomes useful to a group if there is a reason for him to rely on the group and/or he trusts someone else in the group enough to go along with it.
