As the title suggests, this is a thread mostly for brainstorming. Have an idea you haven't really had time to flesh out, but don't want to put a lot of effort into it in case someone else doesn't like it? Have a neat idea for a story or roleplay but don't know how to go about starting it? Or even an idea for a character concept/traits? All of that can go here!
A few ground rules, just to keep things flowing smoothly:
1) The keyword here is Brainstorm! Not immediately awesome idea! The point of this is to get ideas out in the open. If you have an idea, post it.
2) If you do or don't like it, please say why. Saying, "That's awesome, we should totally do that!", is encouraging. However, saying "That's cool, how would something like this work with that? Does that still work with the idea as you envisioned it, or is it drifting a bit too much?" not only conveys interest, but also a willingness to expand upon the idea.
3) If an idea is rejected, and you don't want to drop it, then is the time to put a little more thought into it. Also, if an idea is rejected and nobody seems interested at all, don't try to bludgeon it back in there, but think about what else might be fun to do with the group.
4) If an idea is accepted, and you want to begin expounding on it, create a new thread. Remember, this is general brainstorming. A lot of ideas will end up happening in this thread. Try to keep the discussion to a minimum here so the ideas don't get lost beneath the other plans.
That about sums it up. Hopefully, this will be a helpful tool for you to use. And if this thread becomes to busy, we may even consider turning this into a category all it's own. But for now, enjoy. And I hope you have an umbrella handy for all those storms a brewing!
